The transfer portal is going to change how we look at prospects. We used to analyze how quickly can a prospect breakout with their collegiate program. Now we are seeing multiple prospects transfer to different schools each year. Those are situations we have to take a deeper look into, because there are a lot of different reasons a player wouldnāt want to transfer schools.
Jameson Williams made the right decision when he decided to transfer from Ohio State to Alabama. Things werenāt going to plan with the Buckeyes, and he chose to bet on himself by transferring to one of the best collegiate programs in the nation. A change of scenery is what he needed. Once at Alabama, he proved to be one of the best wide receivers in the country and will now be one of the first wide receivers selected in this yearās draft.

After being a four-star recruit and being ranked as the 13th-best wide receiver in the 2019 recruiting class by 247Sports, Williams took a back seat during his freshman season. In 2019 KJ Hill, Chris Olave, Binjimen Victor, Garrett Wilson, and Austin Mack led the team in receiving. Williams did manage to catch six balls for 112 yards and one touchdown.
