My understanding is that dlf adps are driven by a series of drafts done by experienced dynasty owners within dlf and their associates. This being the case I cant decide whether you are wrong here insinuating they are too dumb to account for the most obvious team need draft additions in a generation in their mocks that constitute the monthly adp numbers, or if you are right and they are actually that dumb, in which case these adp numbers are a joke to be exploited for value arbitrage instead of to be relied upon. I guess we will see if you are right as the numbers play out the next couple months.
Given DLF is paid for content, I was also under the impression that ADP data was more reliably sourced
I should add tyler I’ve enjoyed reading many of your articles they have been some of the better on here recently, so excuse my saltiness. That just threw me off, the dynasty rankings always include many outdated figures and comments and updates to it are so piecemeal it is hard to rely on, just a bummer to realize the adp figures are also fairly arbitrary.
Aren’t those values accrued monthly? And aren’t they to represent current value, not mythical changes in situations that can’t be truly known until they happen? ADP for one of these WRs would be quite different if a top-5 WR fell a bit to one of those picks rather than a later selection of A. Pierce or K. Shakir. And if the values are updated monthly, couldn’t some of the comments be 4-5 weeks old? I think we may be getting a little harsh with criticism for something that takes more than a bit of work to get together while grinding out insightful articles for the paying consumers.
I’ve always approached ADP as a snapshot and used it to buy or sell players on which I disagree with the trajectory. Good luck to everyone this draft season.
Moore is a great call out for the reasons you mentioned. With the Jets going after established Vets like Hill, DK and AJB in recent weeks it’s pretty clear they’re set on getting Zach Wilson a big WR upgrade sooner rather than later. As is so often the case, Dynasty managers are typically better off following the actions theses NFL teams make (or attempted to make in this case) rather than operating off of what they say.
