Roll tide hater. lol
i’m thinking of drafting dameon pierce @ #13. he is ranked #20 in superflex rookie draft cheat sheet. would this be CRAZY?? i’m guessing james cook will go before #13,
I feel like this is the draft to just get your guy no matter your draft position
Enjoyed this write up and is helpful
I think this is literally the only analysis – fantasy or reality – that I’ve read that basically said Jameson Williams is nothing more than a burner. Bad take, man. Baaaaaaad take. I get he may not be a star, but you can’t just ignore he’s an excellent route runner and was arguably the best WR prospect in the class before he got hurt. Like…goodness.
I’m sorry…should have read further. Then you dump on Metchie for not being better than five WRs each drafted in the top 15 picks of their respective years??? Dude…what? hahahaha
I literally mentioned the same issues to a buddy if mine the other day. Thanks for posting. I thought I was missing something. I mean, Bateman, Pittman, Watson, Pickens et al. weren’t as highly rated as the Bama 5 so they must be “not good” too, LOL.
I appreciate contrarian opinions and I respect it, but yeah I’m having a hard timing reading this. It’s early on and mocks are not settled, but to also say that James Cook costs almost the same as Kenneth Walker? Come on. Not in real drafts. That’s ridiculous. Cook is a massive tier (or two) drop off from Walker. I haven’t seen McBride going in the top half of the second round in rookie drafts either. This is the first time I’ve disagreed with nearly 100% of an article.
Jameson Williams is a very talented receiver. The problem is how guys with the speed to take the top off the secondary are often used. Ruggs is an excellent example. He had great hands and the ability to run routes at all levels. The problem was with how the Raiders used him, constantly calling for him to “go deep” to take coverage away from Waller and Renfrow, so that when he did get a target it was almost always on a deep ball. It made him into a feast or (mostly) famine receiver. If you think about St. Brown and Hockenson, I can see Williams being used to “take the top off” while most of the targets go to Amon-Ra and T. J.
I think the part about Jameson is not thought out well. How can you say that Pickens has the same upside and a better situation? He has to compete with Dionte, Claypool, Najee and Muth.
Watson has huge red flags being a FCS guy and a late declare. There is tons of evidence that says measurables aren’t required for elite WR play. It feels like Watson COULD be good, but his analytical profile has a lot of question marks.
Don’t like that you dump on Metchie like you do as well. How is it his fault he plays behind those elite guys? He’s good at everything. We don’t even have combine numbers for him. What do you even mean by “never played himself open?”. Agree Dotson is better but there is no way that Metchie is being consistently taken above Dotson.
I agree on you other points about Cook, Mcbride and Willis. The first 2 guys just didn’t seem very well thought out.
Finally someone who points out Jamo profiles as a deep threat at the next level. It’s like everyone ignores all the past highly drafted speed WRs who didn’t hit for fantasy. Ignore the haters in these comments and let them draft the speed guy.
