Great analysis Bruce! I have Etienne, contending team, but most all other my RB’s (Cook, Zeke, AJones, Monty) are getting long of tooth. I’m considering offering Etienne for the 1.02 (figuring Walker) and a 2023 early first. Does that sound like a good, fair trade? The other guy is contending too, but needs more RB help this year than I do, IMO.

I’d offer it and see if you have any luck, but to me… Sending Etienne alone for the 1.02 AND an early 2023 1st seems like a heist in your favor.

I think a more reasonable offer would have you throwing a pick as well (2nd or 3rd)

Thanks Dre, I appreciate your assessment on this. It’s always fun to feel like you ‘win’ trades, but I sure don’t want to insult anyone.

Sure thing man! I think you have a play if your leaguemate needs a RB but it’s not like Etienne is a proven asset at this point. Best of luck 👍🏼

Spot on analysis of Walker! In a 12 team SF, I have 1.04. I’m hoping he falls but will be torn between him and Pickett.

Love the content, Bruce- good stuff!

In regards to your question, not only did I take Walker at 1.02 (12 team PPR 1QB, Edmonds and Pollard as my projected starters)…

I actually traded the 1.04 and 2.03 to guarantee I get him at 1.02.

Not sure if it would have been better to roll the dice without trading up, but it feels great knowing I secured a high upside guy at a thin position.

I think that was a wise move to move up by combining those particular picks. I don’t think it is likely Walker is there at 1.04 unless 1.02 and 1.03 are absolutely flush at RB, and even then they may pick him to flip him.

I was in the same boat, picking at 1.04 and needing Walker pretty badly. I had a deal tentatively agreed to trade up to 1.02 for my 1.04 and 1.08 (plus I’d get 2.04) – with the guy who only wanted Pickett. In the end he didn’t take my offer and just took Pickett at 1.02 and then London went 1.03 and I got my man anyway – what a relief!

Nice! That would have been a good trade but even better you didn’t have to. Who’d you get at 1.08?

Yeah I was so happy. Took Jameson Williams at 1.08 (and I had Garrett Wilson at 1.06 too) so I was happy with that first round haul.

Lol, that’s like Christmas Day! Good luck this year.

Home league I own 1.02, 1.04, 1.07, 1.09, 1.11 and am RB needy so will be using the 1.02 to take Walker or Hall should he be there. If I did not have those later picks I would like go London or trade down from 1.02 if possible as the team is still building this year not ready to contend. Thanks for the article.

Thank you Bruce, good analysis. I don’t have a 1.02 (only a 1.03), but likely wouldn’t take him there and try to trade back. I’m just wary of SEA RBs, they seem to draft at least one every year, so there’s always going to be some kind of comittee and chance that the starter gets beat out. I’m also less than thrilled with their history of spending high picks on RBs over the past 20 years (see Penny, Christine Michael, CJ Prosise, Alex Collins, Robert Turbin, Maurice Morris). Thus I’d rather go with my favorite top WR in this class.

I took him at 1.02 in my home league, hoping be produces for me. He’s certainly in a great situation to be the top dog!

I have the 1.02 and 1.04 so I’m planning on taking Walker at 1.02 and getting whichever top receiver falls to me at 1.04 probably London or Wilson. Then I’ll trade Walker in the second half of the season for a better fantasy player. I know Seattle will draft another RB in 2023 and their OL is terrible. I know 3 Managers that’ll probably send me an offer at some point in the season.
