Great article! As a Packers’ fan, I hope all of the good things mentioned here turn out to be true. A lot has been said about the Packers not drafting a WR in the 1st round since Walker in 2002. However, while they haven’t hit on a good number of WRs drafted in the 2nd and later, note that the following are 2nd round or later Packers WR draft picks:

Greg Jennings
James Jones
Jordy Nelson
Randall Cobb
Davante Adams

That’s just picking out the ones who have contributed quite extensively to the Packers over the years. Again, their success rate on drafted WRs isn’t that high but the point I’m trying to make is that they have been able to hit on enough of them to, in my opinion, not feel the need nor the pressure to have to draft a highly-touted 1st round WR. They just prefer to spend their draft capital elsewhere. And, given the success rate of 1st round WRs over that same time period, I’d say it’s a fairly smart strategy and you can’t really argue with that philosophy.
