Week 3 is upon us and tough decisions are here. Some of our stars may be injured, some may be underperforming. So do you continue to start your stars or do you look to the bench? We’ll go through the top of the 4for4 projections for each position to help your decision-making process.

What Stands Out: Who isn’t in the top 10 versus who is in it? Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and Tua Tagovailoa all fall outside of the top 10 this week.
Analysis: Another thing that stands out is the matchups the top 10 quarterbacks have this week as only Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are in difficult matchups. Jalen Hurts looks set to explode (again) against Washington this week after they were carved up by Jared Goff last week. Justin Herbert will be one of the biggest injury situations to monitor this week. Kirk Cousins gets the benefit of not playing on Monday Night Football this week and should be back to his stat-compiling ways. Joe Burrow has a solid matchup against the Jets, but will his offensive line allow him to have a monster game this week? Looking outside of the top 10, Jared Goff is in an interesting spot against the Vikings. The Lions are going to keep playing in shootouts thanks to their defense.

What Stands Out: A lot of the elite running backs were duds last week, but as you can see looking at the matchups more than a few are in elite matchups this week. Will they rebound?
Analysis: I don’t know about you, but I’m counting on Jonathan Taylor getting more than 10 touches this week. Christian McCaffrey wasn’t a dud, but he also didn’t have a massive game against the Giants. He gets a tough matchup this week against the Saints in which he’s struggled on the ground in the past. He’ll need to get back to his previous seasons’ level of targets to pay off big this week. Tennessee’s offense has been abysmal so far this season and without leads it’s tough for Derrick Henry to pay off, this week should be competitive though against Las Vegas. Leonard Fournette is getting all of the work in Tampa Bay and if Mike Evans’ suspension is upheld, he could be in line for passing work. One guy outside of the top 10 to keep an eye on is Clyde Edwards-Helaire. It isn’t a great matchup on the ground, but he’s looked better so far this season.

What Stands Out: Cooper Kupp against Arizona has the projection you’d expect.
Analysis: Kupp stands out above the rest, but Justin Jefferson also is head-and-shoulders ahead of the pack. A.J. Brown and Davante Adams are both in elite matchups this week. As we saw with Jalen Hurts’ projection against Washington, Brown follows suit. Adams surely can’t be out-targeted by Mack Hollins in back-to-back weeks! With running backs falling by the wayside in San Francisco, could Deebo Samuel be in line for more rushing work this week? Amon-Ra St. Brown is running as hot as the sun right now, and with a matchup against Minnesota, the sun running should continue. One name to keep an eye on outside of the top 10 is Gabriel Davis. Will he be healthy this week? And if so, a potentially high-scoring affair against Miami is on tap.

What Stands Out: Dallas Goedert joins the top two as the only other player projected for double-digit points.
Analysis: Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews are again at the top of the rankings and will likely remain there all season. If George Kittle is finally healthy this week, he’s projecting well even in a difficult matchup against Denver. Zach Ertz has quietly been ok at a position where not a lot of options have even been ok. Pat Freiermuth is third in targets per game at the tight end position and gets an average matchup against Cleveland this week. Kyle Pitts has seen just 10 targets in two games and his coach is already tired of hearing about saying “this isn’t fantasy football,” and buddy you’re right because there is no way a fantasy football manager would let the #4 pick in the draft not get more targets. Tyler Higbee is 10th this week in the rankings, but he’s first in targets at 10.0 per game. One guy outside of the top 10 to keep an eye on is Logan Thomas. Carson Wentz has a lot of options, including 11 guys on the other team to throw to, but the combination of a good matchup and consistent usage could be another nice outing this week.

Thanks for the comment…I’m a little confused what you mean by “paywall content locked behind an additional paywall/subscription wall” though…this is a completely free article here at DLF, also completely free at 4for4. If you want the full weekly projections, then you can get that simply w/ a 4for4 subscription. Or the Betsperts Bundle, which gives you access to 4 sites, including DLF and 4for4.
Unbelievable that we now have to pay for weekly rankings, come on guys, being an annual member should get all content, this is pure greed
Keith, I appreciate that perspective, but I can promise you this doesn’t have anything to do with greed. Before 2018, we didn’t ever have weekly rankings, because those are redraft focused rather than dynasty specific.
Then in 2018 we had an analyst who wanted to give it a shot, so he wrote a weekly article looking at positional rankings. When looking at our content plan for this year, we were going to remove it completely, but decided to lean on the quality and accuracy of 4for4’s weekly projections rather than not offer anything. That being said, we’ve never highlighted or used weekly in-season rankings to sell DLF subscriptions. We made the decision because it’s the right one for us to make. Instead of throwing up rankings that weren’t great, or just completely ignoring the topic, we chose the option to provide a highlight of the best weekly rankings in the industry (4for4).
We do have a promotion with Vivid Picks that allows new users to create an account using the promo code DLF, deposit $15 or more (matched up to $100) and then get the Betsperts Bundle free! Yeah and for those of us in states where with strict gaming laws that ain’t an option. BS. As a longtime member I wouldn’t have renewed if I knew that weekly rankings were going away. I won’t renew again…
You’d think they’d get the hint with the same comments each week that the “defense” response comments aren’t hitting their mark. 🤷🏼♂️
Between the reduction in helpful content that I’ve seen since whatever merger they did, and the comment responses acting like were crazy for noticing, that seals that I’m done after this season. This site is getting watered down after having a subscription for 5 years and loving it. A response to this telling me how much it’s better now isn’t convincing anybody. I know what I use and get out of a site – and it’s been noticeably weaker this off-season and start of this season. I’d be interested in customers saying the site is better, not the employees. You guys can’t keep saying the customer is wrong – you’d think these frustrated customers comments would make that clear. Oh well – is what it is I guess.

As far as your other comments go, could you provide some examples of what you feel like has been watered down or is missing? You mentioned “reduction in helpful content” as well as it being “noticeably weaker” and would appreciate tangible examples or illustrations on what you mean so we can address or consider them. It’s hard to give exact examples of what’s missing – it’s just missing those “umph” articles that you HAVE to read. I’ve been a subscriber for 4+ years. Until the past 6 months ago, I’d go to your site at least 4-5x a week in the offseason, and everyday during the season, and see 2-3 articles each time that I couldn’t wait to read top to bottom. The past 6 months I found that when I was going to the site, there hasn’t been as much stuff that looked interesting – or when I started one I’d quit way before I got to the end of the article. So I come to the site less now, and when I do look there’s still not as many articles that I have to “catch up” on despite coming less often. Maybe it’s just me? Maybe I’ve not become your target audience somehow (after 20+ years of dynasty though?). The weekly in season stuff was always at least a go to, but taking out something as big as the weekly rankings is a pretty big hole in content. And no, the top 10 as a “taste” does nothing. My wife could probably pick most of the top 10. It’s the 2nd and 3rd level rankings that are intriguing from fantasy experts. Is it easy for you guys to do? Sounds like you’re saying it’s hard and requires a lot of effort – which I can believe – but that’s also why I pay you, a dynasty fantasy football site, MONEY. To rely on people that have devoted their business to providing insight. If you take that away, then….
