We love our blue bloods in college football. They give us an instant classic like the recent clash between Alabama and LSU. They have produced fantasy superstars like Derrick Henry, Ja'Marr Chase, Mark Andrews, and countless others.
Yet not all players spend their college careers in the limelight. Some young athletes simply take more time to develop. Others transfer from bigger programs for better opportunities. The Group of Five and beyond produces NFL talent and offers plenty of value in devy circles due to the overlooked nature of its talent, while many power conferences have good players not getting their due at low-profile programs.
Below, we look at some of the lesser-heralded players in college football who can make an impact. For the purposes of this exercise, these players do not appear in the top 50 of DLF’s devy rankings, nor have they registered in ADP in DLF’s devy mocks.
