Bye:  None

Week 12

Here I sit in southern Oregon following a 13-hour drive. Rather than pound out some nonsensical blather due to being road weary, I'll keep this very short.

Most importantly, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones! A number of events in my life have shown me the importance of never taking people and things for granted, lest they be taken from you before you have a chance to realize their importance. It's always a good idea to let those people near and dear to you just how important, valued and cherished they are. And nearly as important, extend your thanks to those non-person based blessings you have been given as well. Always possess a level of grace and humility in everything you do and everything you have received!

So as not to water down this message with football talk, I'm simply wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving & Holiday Season!

Team Tracking

I finished this week 8-5, bringing my total record to 86-57. It was nice not to have any bad or dramatic losses in week 11. In those games I won, I did so rather effectively. In those games I lost, I was soundly beaten by players having good games - sometimes it's nice to know there wasn't much you could do. I have two teams who may not get another victory this year. One is in full rebuild mode and the other is just not starting to get healthy and has at least a snowball's chance should Ja'Marr Chase and others return soon.

I did have one loss which could have been turned into a win by playing Treylon Burks over Isaiah McKenzie and, quite honestly, I had meant to do that but forgot during my Vegas trip. I also allowed myself to get stuck with only Gerald Everett at TE who ultimately was ruled out. I had no one to pivot to. It was a close game but doesn't look like I could have pulled it out anyway. Fantasy happens!

Losing Cooper Kupp is going to be a big blow to multiple teams of mine. Many of my top scoring teams have Kupp and his loss is going to dramatically impact my playoff scoring performance. It's not a death sentence, but he's a very difficult player to replace. I know I'm not alone in saying that 2022 has been a difficult year with a LOT of variability.

Good luck this week.

Lineup Advice Rules & Format

DLF continues to see amazing growth in our membership and each year I wonder how I'm going to keep up with all of your questions while also holding to a level of service and quality you've all come to expect from me. I've been VERY happy with my level of accuracy but, for that to occur, I need your help. Each question can take up to 10 minutes for me to research as I research up to a dozen different variables and trends. I do everything I can to get my answers correct. For that reason, I need you to read the following rules and guidelines to help me maintain efficiency:

  • Please don't ask me to set your entire lineup
  • Put "TNF" as the top line for any question involving Thursday Night Football games
  • Please also make sure to tell me who YOU would be starting if not for my advice. It helps me to understand your gut feeling.
  • Include your scoring format  (PPR, Non-PPR, etc.)
  • Keep your questions as brief as possible - Story questions add a lot of time
  • I prioritize questions involving the earliest (Thursday, etc.) games first. If I skip over your question, don't worry, I'll be back to it.
  • It's easy to miss responses to my responses in thread. When in doubt, always post a separate new question

Lastly, I work very hard to get my advice correct and I do not mail it in. When I'm wrong, I feel every incorrect answer so, go easy on me! That said, the DLF community has been absolutely fantastic to work with which is why I'm still doing this after so many years.

Have a great week! Have an even better season!

**TNF**

HI Jeff!

I imagine that there will meet lots of Thursday questions this week! So let’s get to it.

0.5 PPR.
I need one flex.
Pacheco at Rams
Carter vs Bears
Sutton at Panthers
Thielen vs Pats

I’m leaning Pacheco. He got some good opportunities last week and Rams aren’t as good as they used to be and they could run more given the Rams no longer have the offense to keep pace (Not Orlando Pace…haha Pace puns from 20 years ago).

Hope you had good luck in Vegas!

I was able to pick up Burks on waivers so he’s also an option vs the Bengals.

0.5 PPR TNF/Thanksgiving
I sat Pollard last week because I didn’t know who to sit for him (good problem to have but ends up stinging sometimes)…so I’m just laying it all out there for you lol
Need 4: Pollard, McCaffrey, Diggs, A.J. Brown. Mixon/Perine, Keenan (Pollard, CMC, Diggs….I think I’m playing Perine if Mixon is out and sitting AJ Brown…and playing AJ Brown if Mixon goes…thoughts?).
Need 1 TE: Knox vs. Hurst (Hurst upside just not there lately, I would rather have the TD upside of Knox)
Need 2: Singletary, Mixon/Perine, Jamaal Williams, Garrett Wilsom (Jamaal & Mixon/Perine?)
Need 1 Superflex: Russ, Heinicke, any leftovers from the one above (Russ due for a TD right?)
Need 1 TE: Njoku vs. Gesicki (Njoku right?)
Thanks!!

***TNF***
12 team 1 QB PPR/1.5 TE PPR
Context I have Dak and Burrow. I also have the stack for both…Higgins, Chase, and Lamb. Assuming Chase is out or limited, do I stack Dak and Lamb or Burrow and Higgins? Of course Im starting these WRs. It’s more of a QB question. Would hate to have a Mr. Bunting moment! Thanks and Happy TG!

*TNF*

Thanks for doing this on such a short week Jeff!
Need 2 RBs from this group. Full PPR: Rachaad White v. Cle, Mostert v. Hou, Swift v. Buf, Kyren Williams v. KC, McKinnon V. LAR. I’m leaning Mostert and White. Having a hard time trusting Swift, the touchdowns the last 2 weeks have honesty saved me.

Thanks again Jeff, and have a great Thanksgiving!

Hey Jeff!

**TNF**

Christian Watson (at PHI on [email protected]) or Gabe Davis (at DET on [email protected])? Non-PPR

Whichever I choose will clearly be the wrong one 😫

I guess I’d like to add Dak vs. Geno, I’m leaning Geno.

Fournette, Keenan, Jeff Wilson Jr., Hopkins, Deebo, need two WRs and a FLEX, I’m leaning Keenan, Deebo, and Jeff Wilson Jr. on the assumption Kyler won’t play so Hopkins can sit.

Juwan Johnson vs. Njoku, I’m leaning Juwan.

If you have the time, but my OP question is the one I really care about and don’t have a good feeling about leaning either way. I’m full on Tinker Tinker Which Damn Guy! Or is it Tinker Tinker Tailored WHYYYY 😫

Thank you for all you do to help us!

Hey Jeff, thanks for all you do, happy holidays!
(Standard Scoring)

QB: pick 1
* Lamar J @ Jac
* Tua T vs Hou
Do I dare bench Lamar? He’s a lock unless you see something I don’t this week.

(Starting A Jones at RB1)
RB2: pick 1 from these:
* M Sanders vs GB
* D Foreman vs Den
Sanders seems the choice but Foreman may get the carries he needs in this one.

WR: pick 2 from these:
* J Jefferson vs NE (TNF)
* T Higgins @ Ten
* T McLaurin vs Atl
Jefferson always a lock unless you don’t like the NE matchup. Leaning Higgins for WR2 but that McLaurin matchup looks good.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving! ✌🏼

TNF – 10 Team ½ point PPR
Need two of five RBs:
S Barkley @ DAL, D Foreman vs DEN, K Hunt vs TBB, R While @ CLV and L Murray @ CAR. Ugly group but leaning Barkley and Foreman.
Need three of five WRs:
C Lamb vs NYG, DJ Moore vs DEN, K Allen @ ARI, D Johnson @ IND and M Evans @ CLV. Thinking Allen, Evans and Lamb as Moore and Johnson becoming tough to start.
Thanks in advance

Hey Jeff! Thanks again for doing this!
I need an RB2 and a flex. I have D’Onta Foreman, Jakobi Meyers, Cam Akers/Kyren Williams. The release of Darrell Henderson was a curveball! What do you think? Thanks Jeff!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!! I forgot to mention that I also have Perine. It looks like Mixon will be missing at least 1 game.

Hey there Jeff, I have Tua (coming off a bye) at home vs Houston, and Burrow at Tennessee. I know the Houston pass defense is pretty good, but I am leaning Tua due to his great numbers the last three weeks, and he’s coming off a bye. Should I be leaning Tua in this situation?
Happy Thanksgiving, and if you have to deal with in-laws, I hope they don’t suck.

TNF
Or is that TDNF for Thursday daytime/nighttime football??

PPR – four different teams

Josh Allen or Burrow?
Josh again or Tua?
Dallas or Pats DST?
Dallas or NYJ DST?

Agree on the crazy season. Returning champ started off 6-0 and now 7-4 after losing by less than one point on MNF. With Hollywood out, I picked up AJ Green who did okay but Rondale’s first play injury gave the targets to Dortch instead. Losing Hollywood earlier this year started it, then Kupp going down, and Waddle on his bye left me with Hollins, AJG, and Justin Watson for WR’s. Reliable players like McKinnon and Folk just didn’t get things done. There’s always week 12 (I hope)…….

Have a happy and safe Turkey Day Kemo!

Not quite TNF-
In case you’re still around – I have BB waivers tonight and need to look at possible replacements for AJG and Justin Watson. Do you think the Wolford has the ability to reach Atwell on a long pass? Looking between him Dortch, and maybe Quez Watkins for possibles. Of course, I do have Golladay sitting ready to go…..

Thx. Couldn’t work out a trade for Hop last week and have an offer of Lockett for my late 1st but feel that’s a bit steep. Not sure if I’ll have enuf $$ for Dortch tonight but we’ll see. Only other guy I’m thinking about might be Mims with a new QB but Atwell’s speed has always interested me.

1QB, 12tm, PPR
Hey Jeff,
So sorry this is last minute…
I’m going back & forth on this one…
1) Start Jeff Wilson or Rhamondre Stevenson?

2) Start Tee Higgins or Terry McLaurin?
I’m leaning Tee…

Chad Gorick

Hey Jeff, whenever you get back in the saddle, I’m looking for some TE guidance.
‘In non-PPR redraft, who are you rolling with this week: Njoku vs TB or Everett vs AZ. I’m thinking Everett against that choice matchup and he’s got some decent matchups coming up too.
In PPR dynasty, Njoku vs TB or Moreau vs SEA. I’m thinking Njoku may get enough targets against tough to run on TB to offset the Seattle matchup Moreau will enjoy? But Moreau all the way if we hear any talk of another pitch count situation for Njoku.
What do you think?

Hi Jeff. .5 PPR/10 teams…Need a FLEX from Cooper (vs TB), Olave (@ SF), Aiyuk (vs NO), & Montgomery (@ NYJ)
I was going with Cooper all along, but they are calling for severe weather in Cleveland Sunday. Lots of heavy rain & wind.
Montgomery is guaranteed a ton of volume but the Jets defense is very good.
SF struggles vs the slot and Olave saw his most work from the slot last week. I love Olave but I just dont trust the QB situation in NO.
Its probably really between Montgomery & Olave at this point for me.
Aiyuk has been on a roll but Marshon Lattimore may be back for NO and its hard to predict who will get the touches in the SF offense.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff…Happy Thanksgiving to you sir!
Pair of decisions here for ya. First one: who to SIT of these 3?
-Deebo Samuel vs NO
-Terry McLaurin vs ATL
-Aaron Jones @ PHI
I feel like Terry is a smash play against ATL’s defense (knock on wood), so really just between Deebo and Jones. GB may have to abandon the run game to keep up but Jones is pretty competent in the passing game. I lost last week by sitting Deebo in favor of Donta Foreman so feel like sitting him again would be a mistake but I’m a bit torn here.
2nd one:
Who to start of these 3:
-Josh Palmer @ ARI
-Brandon Aiyuk vs NO
-Treylon Burks vs CIN
Leaning Palmer here with Mike Williams still out but Aiyuk isnt’ a bad option either I feel like. Burks had a good game last week but I kinda feel like I wanna see it one more week before starting him, ya know?
Thanks for your help as always.

Hi Jeff, hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I have overlapping players in two leagues. In .5 PPR, please rank these guys for this week only:
Higgins (assuming Chase plays), Deebo, Rashaad White, Godwin.
Thank you!

Hi Kemo,

Oregon’s pretty, but I couldn’t talk my wife into it. She felt she would rust up there, so Tucson won out! We did Oregon coast and Crater Lake 2 years ago. Nice.

PPR
1) I may have a RB issue. Planning on starting Jacobs and Pierce but Jacobs is suddenly questionable and Mostert (my flex #2) looks to be out. Jeff Wilson is my #1 flex. All I have left is McKinnon, Drake, and JRob who is in a pending trade right now for Lockett. If Jacobs is out, it looks pretty much like McK and Drake, but if he’s active, does McKinnon get the nod? One more catch from him last week and I’m 8-3 instead of 7-4 and in danger of slipping out of the playoff race.

2) TBay DST or Wash this week?

3) For my only pro 1st place team, I need two flex from Foreman, Mooney (QB??), MVS, Lazard, Demarcus Robinson (if active), and Shenault.

4) Starting Davante and Lockett. Need my third WR from Lazard, Demarcus, Landry, and Julio.

5) Lastly, I have to choose two flex from Foreman, Akers, JRob, Mooney, and Alec Pierce.

Thx Kemo.

Jeff,
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Quick TE question.
Standard scoring, PPR
Everett or Njoku?
Leaning Everett for no reason other than he’s playing this week and Njoku hasn’t played or practiced much in a while.
Thanks,
Steve

Hey Jeff,
‘IDP questions
1) Need three to start from: Roquan vs JAX, Jewell vs CAR, Warner vs NO, Foye vs BAL, ZFranklin vs PIT
2) Need one to bench from: Warner vs NO, Jewell vs CAR, LWilson vs TEN, ZFranklin vs PIT, Okereke vs PIT
Thanks!

Hey Jeff,
1) If the Eagles smoke them and pretty much mathematically eliminate the Pack, does Rodgers “willingly” take his thumb to the IR in wk 13 or 14 so they can get a look at Love?
2) PPR need to sit one: Rachaad, ETN or Monty
3) Superflex QB2 need one from: Brisset vs TB, Mariota vs WAS or MWhite vs CHI
4) PPR DK or Keenan Allen
thanks!

is there any recent word on Calvin Ridley? I have been offered a 2023 2nd rounder for him. Sounds enticing but I am afraid of losing out on a potential top 10 WR for the future.

Stephen Atkinson

PPR
Still looking at my RB situation – No word on Jacobs yet other than a calf issue. Sounds like GTD.
I can put in McKinnon but also have Drake and JRob who I was planning on including in a trade for Lockett. Your thoughts on the Jets/Bears game and possible usage of Robinson vs Carter? With Jacobs iffy and Mostert likely out, my once decent RB room is having issues. If Edwards doesn’t play, Drake has decent value but it sounds like he’s in. Otherwise I throw in a flex WR and pray….

Good Morning Jeff, 1pt PPR league. I have Mike Evans and Jeff Wilson in my flex spots this week. My other options are Juju, Josh Palmer, Pacheco and Cooks. Seems like Wilson is going to be the lead back and a definite start. I love all of the targets Palmer gets in that offense but not sure I can bench Evans fresh coming off a bye. Not sure how Juju will fare coming back, but could be a blow out. Would you do it?

PPR Flex. Pachecho, Palmer or Kittle? Need one

Hey Jeff, so I just learned that Josh Jacobs is expected to play after all. I have Najee Harris on Monday night vs the Colts. I am a little scared of starting Jacobs and he pulls up lame early in the game, but his matchup is great. Should I go Jacobs or Harris?

Stephen Atkinson

For my fun retirement community league – good roster – not so hot results.
Starting Kamara, Walker, Hop, ETN, Waddle, and Deebo who is iffy. Would you replace him with either Devonta or Hollywood this week?

Stephen Atkinson

Good morning Kemo,

Looks like my trade of a late 2nd or JRob for Lockett is going down in flames so….

PPR
1) Starting Waddle and Hollywood. Need a #3 WR from Cobb , AJ Green, or Hollins. Dortch is also there but doubtful. Leaning Cobb who Rodgers still seems to have confidence in but unsure over Hollins. Lazard and Watson seem to be the red zone threats there.

2) Jacobs looks to be starting in his later game and I’ve moved him into a flex spot just in case. I do have McKinnon or whichever WR you didn’t pick above also late just in case. Trying not to get too “cute” as you like to say, but still thinking about putting in JRob over McK hoping the Jets lean on their run game vs CHI and thinking he may have a better shot at a TD than McK. Unfortunately he is in the early game which forces a decision there. If you answered this in my earlier post this morning, don’t worry about it.

Thx again. Great work as always.

Hi Jeff,

C. Watson or G. Edwards in the flex position.

Hi Kemo,
I guess my RB question will get sorted out somehow. For whatever reason, JRob is listed as inactive a few minutes ago. I hadn’t heard anything about an injury, the weather is rainy and a bit windy, so it seemed like they would need both RB’s going but something must have happened. Thx.

Still struggling with one flex from Foreman, Lazard, Mooney, Demarcus, and MVS from earlier. Need a win to stay in first and going against #3. I put in Wilson as my #1 flex (somehow didn’t mention him in my earlier query) so that just leaves the one open slot. Don’t quite trust Siemian in Chi for Mooney and I’m forced to play him on another team.

What are your thoughts on Julio today with the weather in Cleve? I have him on another team but was offered him for my 2023 late 4th elsewhere on the team that has the Cobb/Hollins question earlier. I could plug him in there if you thought he was a better choice than those two WR’s.
