Praise continues to be heaped upon the rookie tight end and the team has been using Kincaid all over the formation in spring practices. At the same time, starter Dawson Knox has also been active this spring and has a good chemistry with Josh Allen. It would seem Knox will play the more traditional tight end role while Kincaid mixes in more as a receiver, but it's all guesswork as to how the snaps and targets will be distributed when the regular season arrives. Rookie tight ends have a notoriously long integration period into the NFL. Listed as DLF's TE7, a large premium is already attached to Kincaid's rookie expectations leaving little room for a disappointment should he get off to a slow start.

The Bills envision using rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid "more like a wide receiver."
The Bills gave Dawson Knox a 4-year extension last year and he's more than capable as a starter. Kincaid also profiles well as an athletic player who could give defensive secondaries pause in constantly double-teaming Stefon Diggs. Another capable receiver is a scary proposition for an already-accomplished offense but it also helps ensure that Kincaid will see the field in two-tight end sets for early-career production. Kincaid continues to be first-off-the-board at the position as DLF's rookie TE1 and our TE21 overall.

Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid was drafted by Buffalo with the 25th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Kincaid was rumored to be on the rise in the 2023 NFL Draft and possibly taken ahead of all-world Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer. In the end, the smoke led to fire as the Bills took Kincaid with the 25th overall pick with Mayer still on the board. Kincaid will compete with Dawson Knox for snaps in the Bills offense and while his career could start slowly, Kincaid has TE1 upside. Still, it's going to be tough to trust Kincaid as an elite level prospect, even with Buffalo. As such, he looks like a second round pick in dynasty rookie drafts this Spring.

According to DraftKings, Dalton Kincaid (+120) is expected to be the second tight end selection after Michael Mayer (-150) during the NFL Draft.
It's a minor detail as both are expected to be first round selections during day one of the draft. Kincaid's stock has been rising in mock drafts, now overwhelmingly found as the top tight end selection by major media analysts covering the NFL, due to perceived better athleticism. Regardless of which is first off the board, drafted situation may play a role in determining should that hold in dynasty rookie drafts to follow. Kincaid is listed as DLF's TE2 and the R20 overall.

It's further continuation of the recent trend. Kincaid's athleticism and route running continue to fuel his ascent and he's now routinely mocked ahead of Michael Mayer by NFL pundits. Rookie tight ends are notoriously difficult to value in dynasty rookie drafts, and NFL first-round selections often don't pan out. That said, with many now dropping comps to Travis Kelce, Kincaid's value is on the rise. He's found as DLF's TE2 and our R21 overall.

This selection is noteworthy in that it's a continuation of a very recent mock draft trend and narrative, Kincaid being selected over Michael Mayer. Kincaid's athletic profile continues to create intrigue, especially given Mayer's sub-optimal athletic display during the NFL Combine. While Mayer's abilities are well known, the upside of Kincaid ensures' he'll be one of the first two off the board during the NFL Draft. He's found as DLF's TE2 and our R22 overall.

Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid won't participate in drills at the NFL Combine due to a late-season back injury in 2022.
By all accounts, 2023 remains a very deep class at the tight end position and Kincaid has routinely been pegged as the TE2 in this year's field, behind only Notre Dame's Michael Mayer. Kincaid profiles as an undersized-but-athletic playmaker and his Combine measurements will be closely scrutinized. His size could limit his blocking ability as has been seen on tape but he fits the bill for those seeking athletic ex-basketball players who have shown success at the next level. As pointed out in the article, undersized tight ends already don't typically have success in the NFL and 245 lbs. is the mark to watch. Rookie tight ends have a long acclimation period into the NFL as is. Kincaid is found as DLF's rookie TE2 and the R25 overall.

Hayden Hurst is a free agent and the team has wide-open need at the position. Notre Dame rookie Michael Mayer headlines the position but Kincaid has been a popular first-round selection in mock drafts. The Bengals have multiple needs and this seems to be a luxury pick given the depth of this year's tight end class in combination with a relatively deep free agent class, but it remains a possibility. Kincaid profiles as an athletic pass-catcher and would fit what the Bengals do on offense. He's found as DLF's TE2 and the R27 overall.
