Breece Hall is an American football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He played college football at Iowa State, where he was a two-time All-American and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.

Of the players to recently suffer ACL injuries, Breece Hall has the best chance to buck the trend related to his 2023 performance.
It's been well documented that players suffering ACL injuries do not return to pre-injury form in the year following an ACL injury. Hall's injury didn't involve any other knee structures and age remains on his side, providing hope that his post-injury performance won't suffer. Head coach Robert Saleh is on record saying that he's optimistic Hall will be back by week one of the regular season, but we can expect the team to be very conservative with their sophomore phenom, perhaps leading to less usage in early games. In either case, Hall's dynasty stock continues to shine and he remains DLF's RB2 showing confidence from the dynasty community that he'll return to form sooner rather than later.

It remains unclear when Breece Hall will be ready to return as he rehabs from an ACL injury suffered in 2022.
There's never been any indication that the Jets believed Hall would be ready to go on day one of camp and rushing their sophomore phenom back to the field would be a misguided approach. By all accounts, his rehabilitation continues to progress ahead of schedule and there's every chance he's back for week one of the regular season. With a deep running back room consisting of Michael Carter and rookie Israel Abanikanda, the team could elect to slow play Hall's return but we won't know the Jets intentions until well beyond the start of training camp. Breece Hall is found as DLF's RB2 behind only rookie Bijan Robinson.

Breece Hall is participating at OTAs
It's a notable report given Hall's ACL injury in late October, 2022. Before the injury, Hall was in the midst of a breakout, scoring touchdowns in four straight games. All expectations are for the second-year back to be back for the start of the season and his involvement in OTAs, and likely training camp, will be significantly limited. Hall is found as DLF's RB2 behind only Jonathan Taylor and represents a high-ceiling RB1 who turns only 22 in late May.

Speaking on the topic of Breece Hall, head coach Robert Saleh says the sophomore back "looks fantastic" and should be ready by week 1
Hall tore his ACL in late October so a September return would be 10 1/2 months from injury, about right for physical recovery. ACLs can take time to fully recover from, including mental recovery, but Hall is young and the Jets have no reason to rush his timetable for return. Found as DLF's RB1, Hall should be a force in the NFL for a long time as long as he can remain off the trainer's table. He'll be backed up by third-year back Michael Carter.

Breece Hall believes he can be ready for training camp as he recovers from ACL surgery performed earlier this year
It's an aggressive timeline and there's little way the Jets will allow their highly drafted 2022 running back to return early in camp. Either way, Hall's recovery is apparently going very well, he's ahead of the curve and his optimism would seem to point to him being ready for week one of the 2023 season. The bigger question surrounds his role given the team's running back room including Michael Carter, James Robinson and Zonovan Knight, who showed well following the loss of Hall. Prior to injury, Hall looked special in all phases and, still only 21 years of age, as long as he encounters no setbacks in his recovery, all arrows will remain pointing straight up. He's listed as DLF's RB2.

comment By all accounts, Hall has recovered swiftly from his knee injury. The good news is - by serious knee injury standards - his was fairly clean with isolated damage. A premier athlete not yet 22, I am still bullish on Hall long-term and feel his 2023 could be excellent as well. |
